The Virginia Department of Forestry has published a new 116-page identification guide, “Common Native Shrubs and Woody Vines of Virginia.”

The book is a companion to the “Common Native Trees of Virginia” identification guide, according to a release.

The book includes descriptions and drawings of 52 shrubs and 14 vines native to Virginia. It also lists the top 10 most common non-native invasive species, as well as information on Holiday Lake Forestry Camp, Virginia’s state forests and its tree nurseries.
