Camping for Hunger food drive

The Shenandoah University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee contributed proceeds from its 15th canned food drive to the annual “Camping for Hunger” food drive held by The River 95.3 FM radio station.

This year, The River 95.3 donated 23,000 pounds of food and more than $3,000 to C-CAP of Warren County. Of that total, the Shenandoah SAAC collected 1,242 cans, an average of 2.74 cans per student-athlete.

In a separate departmental contest, the 11 women’s teams defeated the 10 men’s teams by collecting 3.96 cans per student-athlete to 2.32 for the men. The men collected a total of 683 cans and the women 559.
