Youth Conservation Corps accepting new applications
The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is accepting applications through April 15 for two three-week summer sessions of the Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corp.
Teams of eight to 10 participants will be chosen from high school students between the ages of 14 and 17. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in protecting Virginia’s environment. They will help with park projects like wildlife and fisheries habitat improvement, trail and campground construction and restoration, timber and shoreline improvement and landscape beautification.
Crew members will be provided room, board, T-shirts, equipment and will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the three weeks.
