Winchester Festival princesses Three students have been named princesses in the court of the queen of the 83rd Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, April 23 through May 1. Representing the West Virginia Horticultural Society is Rachel K. Burkhart, daughter of Karen and Mark Burkhart of Martinsburg, W.Va., and granddaughter of Marcella Dodd of Amherst, Ohio, and Geneva Burkhart of Martinsburg. A freshman at West Virginia University, majoring in speech pathology, she is a graduate of Martinsburg High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club. She played varsity basketball and volleyball and was captain of both teams her senior year. Representing the Virginia Horticultural Society is Whitney P. Drumheller, daughter of Michelle Leyva of Richmond and Joanne and Kevin Drumheller of Lovingston and granddaughter of Diane Dilley, Larry Weesner and Doris Drumheller, all of Lovingston. She is a senior at Nelson County High School where she is in the FBLA and on the Relay for Life Team. Representing Randolph-Macon Academy is Mary K. Hylton, daughter of Robin and Paul Hylton of Leesburg and granddaughter of W. Eugene Larrick and Hamp and Judy Hylton, all of Winchester, is a junior at Bridgewater College. A biology major, she is a member of the Beta Beta Beta biological society and the Chemistry Club. She is a graduate of Loudoun County High School and a Red Cross volunteer. Anna L. Kuykendall, daughter of Denise and J. Sloan Kuykendall III of Winchester and granddaughter of Anna and Wilfred Trenary of Stephens City, is a freshman at Lord Fairfax Community College. She is a graduate of Handley High School where she was a member of the tennis team. Sydney W. Mitchell, daughter of Carroll and Robert Mitchell of Richmond and granddaughter of Ursula and Bruce Behrman of Richmond and Nancy and Bob Mitchell of Winchester, is a sophomore civil engineering major at Virginia Tech. Denham, daughter of Alice and Doug Denham of San Antonio, and granddaughter of William C. Trenary III of Front Royal and David Denham of Winchester, is a junior at Texas State University-San Marcos. A public relations major, she is an honor student and is on the dean's list. She is a graduate of Winston Churchill High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the dance team. Lynn E. Evans, daughter of Patsy and Michael Evans of Timberville and granddaughter of Thelma Mathias of Woodstock and Nancy and Bob Evans of Timberville, is a sophomore at Delaware Valley College.
