Travel Expo

The first annual Alpha Voyages Travel Expo will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Delco Plaza, on the corner of state Routes 50 and 522 off Interstate 81 in Winchester.

The expo will offer area residents the opportunity to meet 13 travel specialists and regional managers from Sandals Vacations, Destination Weddings and Travel the World with Globus. There will also be available people who will discuss their travel experiences.

Information will be available about trips to the Caribbean, Europe, Ireland, Iceland, Alaska, Mexico and Grand Canyon as well as cruises with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Carnival and Regent Seven Seas.

The merchants in the shopping center, including Umberto Restaurant, Body Renew Fitness and 0-60 Energy Café, will have gift baskets that visitors can win.

First Bank

First National Corp. the parent company of First Bank, which is headquartered in Strasburg, will pay its shareholders of record a quarterly dividend of 3 cents per share on March 18.  This is a 20 percent increase from the quarterly dividend paid Dec. 18, according to a news release.


Thrivent Mutual Funds

Thrivent Mutual Funds has been named No. 3 in Barron’s/Lipper annual ranking of mutual fund families based on performance for the year ending Dec. 31, 2015. The Feb. 8 issue of the magazine recognized 67 fund families for this year’s ranking.

The ranking was broken down into five categories: general equity, world equity, mixed equity, taxable bond and tax-exempt bond. Only funds with at least one year were included, minus the effect of sales charges/fund loads and 12b-1 fees. Thrivent Mutual Funds was ranked No. 3 for the one-year period, 36th over five years and 45th over 10 years.
