The Fresh Market starts hiring for Winchester store

The Fresh Market grocery store will be opening soon in Winchester and the process of hiring 90 full- and part-time employees begins this week.

A job fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hilton Garden Inn, 120 Westgate Drive in Winchester. Jobs that are open include assistant department managers, department specialists, bakers, butchers, store receiving specialists and grocery coordinators. The minimum age for employees is 16 to 18. On-site interviews will be conducted at the job fair, according to a news release.

Company spokeswoman Stephanie Lowder noted in an email Monday that Fresh Market features high-quality, fresh food and excellent customer service.

“Our stores, products and employees inspire people to make everyday eating extraordinary,” she said.

She also explained why The Fresh Market is opening its newest store on South Pleasant Valley Road, Winchester, next month.

“We are always on the lookout for markets where shoppers have a passion for great food like we do, and Winchester is just such a place. We look forward to serving this community and providing residents here with The Fresh Market’s unique shopping experience.”

The Fresh Market is known for its produce and its prepared foods, both of which often feature exotic or high-end ingredients.

“Our stores offer a large produce department with over 400 items, including a large selection of organic produce as well as items that are sourced locally, Lowder stated. “In addition, we provide a full service meat and seafood department, with freshly ground beef and butchers on site every day. Our European-style deli features more than 200 varieties of imported and domestic cheeses, as well as a wide variety of ready-to-serve items. Our in-store bakery produces more than 30 kinds of freshly baked breads and a variety of pies and other decadent desserts. In addition, customers will find unique selections in our grocery, bulk, coffee, candy and floral departments.”
