Dogs have a new place to relax and unwind now that Paws and Reflect, a spa for pets, is open in Front Royal. The business is holding its grand opening today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Owned by a trio of seasoned dog groomers, Paws and Reflect, located at 10269 Winchester Road, is designed to ease the stress associated with grooming.

Cyndi Jones is one of the three owners. She and the other owners, Jessie Lee and Margaret Keith, worked at PetCo prior to their venture into business ownership.

“All three of us, we worked over at PetCo as dog groomers and we decided to take off on our own and do our own thing. I’ve been doing it for almost seven years. Margaret’s been doing it for 13 and Jessie’s been doing it for about 18 years.”

The women offer all the services that come with a grooming, but at a flat rate rather than charge a base price and charge more for additional services.

“For the grooms for small dogs — starts at $65 and that includes everything,” Jones said. “The spa package includes everything.”

“Everything” includes a premium, all-natural shampoo and conditioning, fluff out, brush out, customized haircut, oral care gel, ear cleaning, nose and paw balm and nail clipping and filing. The spa is for dogs 40 pounds and under but does offer nail trimming and some other services for larger dogs.

Jones said Paws and Reflect has a book of hairstyles for dogs.

“It’s always been about making the dogs happy and more comfortable – make them smell better for the owners,” Jones said. “It’s super calming in here. We try to do everything natural and holistic. It’s very stressful for a lot of dogs to get groomed and we’re trying to make this a spa experience for them.”

The first 50 people in the door for today’s grand opening will receive a goodie bag that will include a cookie from Pure Pup Bakery. The Humane Society of Warren County will also be there with pets up for adoption.
