Whitson earns ODAC honor

Former Sherando High School standout Sean Whitson has been named the the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's Male Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Whitson, a senior at Virginia Wesleyan, posted the ODAC's top eight-kilometer time of the season at the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday in Salisbury, Md. Whitson completed the course in a time of 25 minutes, 7 seconds to finish sixth overall.

Whitson's time was also the second best 8K time in Virginia Wesleyan men's cross country history.
