Wildcats' football program earns donation

Warren County High School's football program will receive a $5,000 check from the Oshiomogho Atogwe I AM Foundation of the Institute of Science and Health after finishing as the runner-up in a competition among Washington, D.C. and surrounding area schools for the highest grade point average.

Atogwe, a starting safety for the Washington Redskins, issued the challenge to area football programs during the 2011 season. Schools competed to post the highest team grade point average during the fall semester of the 2011-2012 school year.

Calvin Coolidge (D.C.) Senior High School will receive a check for $10,000 for winning the challenge.

Grant awards are earmarked for non-salary/non-personnel related costs including the purchase of football field equipment, uniforms, helmets and field refurbishment projects.
