WOODSTOCK – Kasper Christiansen recently was required to write a final paper for a class at Massanutten Military Academy, the topic being either the hardest decision he’s ever had to make, or the easiest. For Christiansen, his biggest life choice fell into both categories.

WOODSTOCK – Some members of Massanutten Military Academy’s postgraduate boys basketball team have struggled adjusting to the military school lifestyle, to the point where the team recently lost the privilege of 24-hour cell phone availability, a luxury not generally afforded to the rest of the school’s cadets. But on the court, the Colonels have become much more comfortable.

WOODSTOCK – As Nehemiah “Bud” Mack was just beginning his senior season of high school basketball at Mount Zion Prep in Baltimore around this time last season, the 6-foot-1 guard gave his verbal commitment to NCAA Division I Manhattan College. By the beginning of May, Mack had backed off his prior commitment simply to explore his other options and ensure he was making the right decision.
MMA’s Pickett signs with Ole Miss

WOODSTOCK – Jamarko Pickett had been leaning toward Ole Miss as his college of choice when he traveled to the school’s Oxford, Missippi campus for a weekend visit with the basketball program in mid-October. Just a few days later, on Oct. 20, the Massanutten Military Academy postgraduate hoops star made his verbal commitment to the Rebels.
