(11:55 a.m.) BERRYVILLE -- A grand jury meeting in Clarke County Circuit Court returned an indictment Monday morning charging Justin Shane Slater with capital murder in the June 10 death of his ex-girlfriend, Kayleigh Marie Plamondon.
The grand jury also returned indictments charging Slater with illegal use of a firearm, breaking and entering at night with the intent to commit murder and theft of one of Plamondon's credit cards.
Slater, 24, of Frederick County, was not in court Monday. He is being held at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center
Slater already was charged with first-degree murder and a related firearm offense related to the shooting death of his brother, Gregory Scott Slater, the same day. Slater also has been indicted on a capital murder charge related to the death of his brother.
Slater was captured by authorities in Hardy County, W.Va., on June 13 after traveling as far north as the Canadian border in New York and ditching his vehicle and stealing a car in Pennsylvania.
