Front Royal police plan DUI checks

FRONT ROYAL -- The Front Royal Police Department will take part in a national law enforcement campaign to prevent drunken driving.

The campaign "Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest" begins today. During the campaign, anyone detained by the police who is found to be driving under the influence will be arrested, according to a release from the Front Royal Police Department.

The Front Royal Police Department will place extra officers on duty and set up traffic checkpoints on different streets during the Labor Day holiday.

Town police have arrested 23 people since Memorial Day for driving under the influence, the release states.
