Libraries offering computer classes

WINCHESTER -- Handley and Bowman libraries are offering free computer workshops in September and October, according to a news release.
Handley Library will offer two 90-minute classes on the basics of e-mail, the Internet, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and an introduction to the computer itself, the release states.
Bowman Library will host workshops on the Internet; Microsoft PowerPoint presentation software; Excel; Microsoft Word word processing software; online database searching; and an introductory computer class, the release states.
Classes will meet once in September and once in October, and typically begin at 5:30 or 6 p.m.
Slots are very limited. Only six people may participate in each class, and reservations are encouraged, the release says.
Handley Library is at 100 W. Piccadilly St. in Winchester. Bowman Library is at 871 Tasker Road in Stephens City.
There is no charge for the programs, which are open to the public.
