Man charged with malicious injury

FRONT ROYAL -- Police have arrested a man accused of maliciously wounding a boy last week.

Eric John Rudden, 24, of 335 Autumn Hills Lane, Front Royal, was arrested Tuesday and charged with malicious bodily injury, a class 3 felony, following an incident in which authorities allege he assaulted a juvenile in the Peyton Street area on Aug. 26, Front Royal Police Chief Richard H. Furr says in a news release.

Police said Rudden struck the juvenile, whose name was not released because of his age, in the face with an object and his fists.

Rudden was granted a $25,000 secured bond during a hearing in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Wednesday. He is due back in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 17.
