Suspect sought in attempted robbery

WINCHESTER -- Authorities are looking for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery early Friday morning, according to the Frederick County Sheriff's Office.
A man entered the QuickStop at 1016 Millwood Pike shortly after 3 a.m. and displayed a handgun, said Maj. Robert "Robbie" Eckman.
Approximately 20-30 seconds later, two men entered the store and the armed person fled the business. He was last seen heading toward Delco Plaza, Eckman said.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, medium build, 220-240 pounds, last seen wearing a dark green long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and a dark green hat.
The man left without taking any money or merchandise, Eckman said.
Authorities are looking at video surveillance camera footage to help identify the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 662-6162 or Crime Solvers at 665-TIPS.
