WOODSTOCK -- A Broadway man was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison Wednesday morning in Shenandoah County Circuit Court for numerous burglaries and grand larcenies that occurred in a near two-year period.
Travis Lee Lam, 29, pleaded guilty to 11 burglaries and seven grand larcenies involving vehicles, power tools, hand tools and car parts. About 40 related charges were dropped.
Lam was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with 10 years to serve. That sentence, however, will run concurrently with active prison sentences he received in three other jurisdictions. Sentences there total 16 years of prison time for Lam to be incarcerated.
Lam, whose crimes occurred from around the time period of October 2006 to May 2008, also faces about 50 similar charges in Rockingham County. Along with co-defendant Royce Lee Miller, also of Broadway, he must pay $56,285.86 in restitution in Shenandoah County.
"You're obviously a thief and went on a rampage," Judge Dennis L. Hupp said to Lam.
