Incumbents easily re-elected to board

FRONT ROYAL -- Two incumbent members of the Warren County Board of Supervisors who faced no challengers on the ballot were easily re-elected Tuesday, according to complete but unofficial returns reported by the State Board of Elections.
Happy Creek District Supervisor Tony F. Carter won his third four-year term by collecting 1,584 votes, according to the SBE Web site. There were 39 write-in votes.
Meanwhile, the board's current chairman, Archie A. Fox, garnered 1,315 votes in the Fork District, where 16 write-in votes were recorded. Fox won his second four-year term.
Also on the ballot in Warren County were School Board races in the Happy Creek and Fork districts. Incumbent board member James S. Wells was re-elected with 1,590 votes while 15 write-ins were recorded.
Cathy R. Bower, who had resigned the Fork District seat over the summer for personal reasons, took home 1,214 votes to win a four-year term. There were 13 write-ins.
According to the SBE, nearly 38 percent of Warren County's active registered voters cast ballots.
