BERRYVILLE -- Authorities announced Friday that three people have been indicted for their alleged involvement in a plot to kill Town Councilwoman Gail Smith.
A Nottoway County grand jury indicted Timothy Smith Jr., 50, Edward Visosky III, 39, and Edward Poley, 32, on charges of conspiracy to commit what authorities have called a murder-for-hire, according to a press release from Berryville police Chief W. Neal White.
All three people are now in custody, White stated.
Authorities found Smith dead in her home on July 30.
However, the matter remains under investigation and no charges have been filed in the case in Clarke County.
