BERRYVILLE -- Three Winchester residents charged with drug crimes after a traffic stop in March have been indicted by a Clarke County Circuit Court grand jury.
According to a criminal complaint filed in the court, authorities found a large amount of heroin after Deputy S.R. Jewell stopped a Ford truck for following another car too closely March 20.
When Jewell stopped the truck, the complaint states, Lori Ann Dooley, 43, of 26 E. Pall Mall St., Winchester, got out of the driver's seat and began to approach the patrol car.
Jewell ordered Dooley back into the truck and asked for identification. Jewell provided a Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center ID card and a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office work release program ID, the complaint states.
Meanwhile, two passengers in the truck "kept reaching under the seat and reaching in both truck doors," it says.
About 1 ounce of heroin was found under the front passenger seat by a Frederick County Sheriff's Office K-9, the complaint states. Smaller amounts of heroin were found along with drug paraphernalia, including a hypodermic needle and spoon.
Dooley was charged with heroin possession and two traffic infractions.
Truck passengers Adan Hector Elorza-Gonzalez, 24, and Ireneo Elosa-Gonzalez, 40, both of 1600 S. Braddock St., No. 11, Winchester, were each charged with one count of heroin possession with intent to manufacture. Both had a large amount of cash when they were arrested, the complaint states. Adan Elorza-Gonzalez had $2,700, it says.
The trio were headed to Winchester from Baltimore, where they allegedly purchased the heroin, the criminal complaint says.
