Man arrested for assault, firearms


NEW MARKET -- A 24-year-old man was arrested Aug. 27 after he allegedly committed domestic assault and brandished a firearm.

Derek Lee Trumbo, of 91 Quail Lane, New Market, is accused of assaulting a female and brandishing a firearm during the assault, Shenandoah County Sheriff's Capt. Tom Hodges said. He said Harrisonburg police officers located Trumbo.

Trumbo is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on Sept. 17.
