WINCHESTER -- A Frederick County man was sentenced to 12 months in jail Tuesday in connection with a March assault at a restaurant.
Kyung Keun Lee, 46, of 138 Little River Drive, Winchester, was sentenced by Frederick County General District Court Judge David S. Whitacre on one count each of misdemeanor assault and brandishing a firearm.
Whitacre suspended a one-year sentence on the brandishing charge, leaving Lee with a year to serve on the assault.
Lee was arrested March 19 after deputies responded to the Sansui restaurant for a report of an employee with a gun, according to a criminal complaint filed in the court.
Lee, who was working in the kitchen, brandished a gun and "hit the victim ... several times with the butt of the weapon and the barrel," the complaint states.
Whitacre ordered that Lee report to jail on Sept. 13 and ordered he not have contact with four people involved in the incident.
