Tenth District congressional candidate William Redpath has signed the American Family Business Institute's "death tax repeal pledge."
By signing the pledge, Redpath, a Libertarian, commits to vote for permanent repeal of the federal estate tax, commonly referred to as the "death tax."
The estate tax is a tax on the net value of a deceased person's estate, including all personal and business assets, before distribution to their heirs.
The tax has expired for one year in 2010, but will return at a 55 percent rate on all assets over $1 million in 2011 pending congressional approval.
A recent study from the American Family Business Foundation found that repealing the estate tax would increase nationwide employment by 1.5 million jobs, according to a news release. In Virginia alone, it would add over 39,000 jobs, the release states.

Like most things...this would benefit all American people. It should not be an "Oath to be signed" but a voting duty by the politicians both and the local and national level should do without the need for additional "Oaths".
State , Local, and National level politicians, have already signed an Oath, a pledge, to the people they promised to represent. When they were voted in and signed the documents of that office, that should have been the only Oath needed.
The question the nation should be asking themselves should be: are my State, Local, and National current holders of "offices" representing me, when they vote, when they convene on issues that effect me.
