WOODSTOCK -- Sentencing for the man who robbed the First Bank branch in Woodstock has been pushed back yet again due to a recent hospitalization, according to Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Ken Alger.
On June 15, Ronald Luther Cosner, 31, of 24368 Old Valley Pike, Maurertown, robbed First Bank and was later apprehended on a Greyhound bus in Raleigh, N.C. Cosner was caught with $1,230 and later pleaded guilty to the robbery.
Sentencing set for today in Shenandoah County Circuit Court was delayed for the second time due to Cosner swallowing a harmful object, Alger said. Cosner was being operated on at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in order to extract the items he swallowed, which may have been paper clips, according to Alger.
Last week, Cosner swallowed razor blades, prompting the initial continuance. Sentencing is now set for Jan. 7.
