FRONT ROYAL -- The volunteer campaign chairwoman for the Front Royal-Warren County United Way has offered to personally match funds the organization receives from now through Dec. 31, up to $3,000.
The local United Way is about $6,000 shy of its goal of $95,000, and campaign chairwoman Beth Medved Waller says in a news release that she wants to make sure that the 12 health and human services agencies the United Way serves will receive their allocations.
"This is my first year as Campaign Chair and the more I learn, the more I want to do to help the organization and its member agencies," Waller says. "Now more than ever, the agencies are counting on their United Way income and we are so close to making our goal -- I know we can do it."
All donations stay in Warren County and the agencies the local United Way serves include: The American Red Cross, Blue Ridge Legal Services, Blue Ridge Opportunities, Boy Scouts, Community Transitional Housing Program, Concern Hotline, Front Royal Women's Resource Center, Girl Scouts, Harmony Place, Healthy Families of Warren County, House of Hope and St. Luke Community Clinic.
Donations can be made by going online at www.frontroyalunitedway.org or by sending a check to P.O. Box 509, Front Royal, Va. 22630.
