NEW MARKET -- A fire destroyed a house at 324 Rocky Mountain Lane on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire and rescue officials responded to the fire around 1 p.m. Wednesday and were having problems getting water up to the fire because of the home's remote location, officials said.

According to an e-mail sent by the American Red Cross, a family of four was displaced by the fire.

Emergency crews were still working at the scene Wednesday evening and no additional information was available at that time.
