KILLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Vermont State Police say a skier who went missing at Killington ski resort after skiing out of bounds has been found safe.
Twenty-two-year-old Philip Embury, of Boyce, Va., was found in fair condition by ski patrol members about 11:40 a.m. Friday. He was taken for a medical evaluation.
On Thursday, Embury was with 24-year-old Alexander Beer, also of Virginia, when they rode a lift up and then skied into backcountry outside the ski resort's boundaries before getting separated. Beer, who had a cell phone, called 911 at about 3:30 p.m. to say he was lost.
Rescuers found him six hours later.
There has been a rash of incidents involving lost skiers in Vermont this month, with at least nine needing rescue.
