Bank of Clarke County announces the addition of four officers to its staff: Robert C. Boyd has been hired as a senior vice president and senior credit officer. He will be responsible for overseeing the credit function at the bank's Old Town Center office. Gregory L. Jay has been hired as a senior vice president and loan officer at the bank's new Round Hill office. J. Andrew Hershey has been hired as a vice president and loan officer at the Old Town Center office. Jon Elliott is a new assistant vice president and branch manager of the Round Hill office.

Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative has again earned the Certificate of Excellence for Safety by the Rural Electric Safety Accreditation Program. The certificate is presented to electric cooperatives in the U.S. that undergo a comprehensive six-step program that includes a rigorous peer-review audit program and on-site inspections of the cooperative's entire system. The review covers the cooperative's safety policies, procedures, facilities and equipment.

DuPont Community Credit Union, with nine branches in the Shenandoah Valley, including Woodstock, reports that $41.6 million in loans were funded during the fourth quarter of 2010 to bring the amount of total loans outstanding to $577.7 million as of the end of the year.
