*Winchester pit bull attack sends three to hospitalBy Alex Bridges -- abridges@nvdaily.com WINCHESTER -- A dog attack in the city early Monday morning sent three people to the hospital, one man with serious injuries. Authorities and emergency rescue workers responded to 2328 Wilson Blvd. for a report of a bite shortly after 12:30 a.m., according Sgt. Frank Myrtle, of the Winchester Police Department. "Individuals were having an argument at the residence when a pit bull attacked three people," Myrtle said. The 7-year-old male pit bull attacked a 25-year-old man, identified as co-owner of the dog, biting him in the face, according to Myrtle. Rescue workers took the man to Winchester Medical Center, Myrtle said. The victim was then transferred to Inova Fairfax for further treatment. Myrtle said he did not know the man's condition.
Both victims were taken to Winchester Medical Center. Their conditions also were not known. Authorities took the dog to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals where it must remain for a 10-day quarantine period, according to Myrtle.
