HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- An exotic dancer wanted on an accessory charge in the death of a Frederick County man is incarcerated at a Maryland jail, an official said.
Ashley Nicole Carpegna, 26, of 2998 Winchester Ave., Martinsburg, W.Va., was jailed Wednesday afternoon at the Washington County (Md.) Detention Center, according to a jail official.
Authorities had asked for the public's help Monday to find the woman, who faces an accessory-after-the-fact charge in the March 6 death of Geronimo Garcia-Cruz.
The Berkeley County, W.Va., Sheriff's Department said Garcia-Cruz was shot at Carpegna's apartment after he and others met Carpegna after visiting the strip club where she worked.
Carpegna allegedly cleaned up blood evidence after the shooting, Berkeley County Sgt. Ted Snyder said Monday, and also made false statements to investigators.
