WINCHESTER -- A Front Royal man must serve prison time for trying to solicit sex from an investigator posing as a teenage girl in an online chat room in 2009.
Judge John E. Wetsel Jr. sentenced Jesse Benjamin Foster, 29, of 109 13th St., on Thursday in Frederick County Circuit Court to 15 years in a state penitentiary for using a computer to solicit sex from a 14-year-old victim and attempting to take indecent liberties with a juvenile under 15.
Specifically, Wetsel sentenced Foster to 10 years for computer sex solicitation and suspended all but three years of the term. The judge sentenced Foster to five years, all suspended, for the indecent liberties charge.
Wetsel gave Foster credit for time served at the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center awaiting trial.
An agreement reached between the commonwealth and Foster's attorney, Paul H. Thomson, called for the defendant to plead guilty to the two charges.
Authorities arrested Foster on Nov. 5, 2009, the same date he committed the offenses.
