WINCHESTER -- A Frederick County man involved in a 2009 crash that left a 21-year-old woman dead has filed a $950,000 lawsuit against her estate.
William J. McAndrew, 51, of the 500 block of Emily Lane, was driving a Saturn north on Greenwood Road north of Senseny road on March 27, 2009, when his car crashed head-on into a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire traveling south.
State police Sgt. F.L. Tyler said at the time that the Sunfire, driven by Frederick County resident Jennifer M. Perry, crossed the road's center line before the crash.
Perry was not wearing a seat belt and died from her injuries, Tyler said. McAndrew was taken to Winchester Medical Center for treatment.
According to a complaint filed Wednesday in Frederick County Circuit Court, McAndrew was "permanently disfigured" from the crash and was "seriously, painfully and permanently injured."
The complaint was filed by city attorney James J. McGuire.
