WINCHESTER -- The Frederick County School Board plans to meet Sunday for a work session to discuss the search process for a new superintendent.
The board agreed Tuesday to enter into a contract with the consulting firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates Ltd., which would conduct a nationwide search for a chief of the school system. Superintendent Patricia Taylor has announced plans to retire by June 30 after working for the system for decades. The board has indicated its intent to fill that position by that time.
Members expressed satisfaction with the choice of the consulting firm and that the board will be included in the process. Likewise, other residents will be involved in the process, officials said.
The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. in the Frederick County School Board administration building on Amherst Street.
