Town to begin special meetings

Recommend ThisSTRASBURG -- Councilman Richard A. Orndorff, Jr. will be holding special get-togethers on occasional Saturdays to receive public input on town matters starting in May.
Orndorff calls the gatherings "Coffee With Your Councilman," which will be an informal opportunity for residents to talk or ask questions about any topics in Strasburg.
"Everyone is concerned about how to get public input and you have to make yourself available as a public official," Orndorff said.
The council has been making adjustments to its meeting structure for the past year.
The gatherings will be informal with Orndorff as the sole council member attending.
He added that he came up with the idea by modeling it after the office hours he used to hold one Saturday a month as mayor.
The events will be held in the lower conference room of the Town Hall on random Saturdays, the first being May 7, from 9 to 11 a.m.
