WINCHESTER -- A study backing the closing of part of Millwood Avenue near Shenandoah University now goes to City Council for more discussion.
The policy board of the Winchester-Frederick County Metropolitan Planning Organization on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution to send the study to the council.
The resolution does not state when the council may next address the study. But city officials said the document would receive further review at several levels including the Planning Department and Commission and the Economic Development Authority.
A representative of at least one stakeholder objected to the action and said closing the section would create traffic safety problems.
