*Suspect sought in afternoon purse-snatching incident

WINCHESTER -- Police are looking for a suspect wanted in a purse-snatching incident Wednesday afternoon.

An 80-year-old woman walking outside her home in the 800 block of Woodland Avenue reported that the suspect approached and took her purse then fled the area, according to Sgt. Frank Myrtle, of the Winchester Police Department. The purse contained cash and credit cards, Myrtle said.

The woman reported no injuries as a result of the purse-snatching.

The victim described the suspect as a heavy-set, white male in his mid-20s, with dark hair. The suspect was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black coat with white trim around the collar, according to Myrtle.
