STRASBURG -- Scott C. Harvard has been appointed president and chief executive officer of First Bank and its corporate parent, First National Corp.
In a statement, First National Chairman Douglas C. Arthur says Harvard, a Virginia native, "is a demonstrated community leader and brings a wealth of experience and banking knowledge to First Bank."
Harvard serves as chairman of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. He previously served as director, president and CEO of Shore Financial Corp. and Shore Bank, a community bank with eight offices on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland, for 23 years.
Dennis A. Dysart, who became interim CEO of First Bank and First National Corp. in January following the retirement of Harry S. Smith, will assume the roles of executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.
