By Alex Bridges -- email@example.com
WINCHESTER -- Authorities say a teenage boy stabbed a family member several times at their home in Shawneeland after an argument Tuesday night.
Deputies responded to a call of a reported stabbing at a residence in the 100 block of Cheyenne Trail which occurred just before 8:30 p.m., Frederick County Sheriff Robert Williamson said Wednesday morning.
The suspect's name is being withheld because of his age.
The 16-year-old suspect, charged with malicious wounding, is accused of stabbing a 44-year-old male family member four times with a paring knife, according to information from Williamson.
Emergency rescue workers took the alleged victim, Terry Beneke, to Winchester Medical Center, where he was admitted and due to undergo surgery today, Williamson said. Beneke sustained stab wounds to his left upper arm, the left side of his chest and two on the left side of his back, according to Williamson. The sheriff said he couldn't say whether the injuries were life threatening.
Officers arrested the boy without incident and took the suspect to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center where he was held without bond, according to Williamson. The boy likely will appear in Frederick County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for a bond hearing, Williamson said.
Officers recovered a paring knife, the alleged weapon, from the scene, Williamson said.
