FRONT ROYAL -- The Warren County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a conditional-use permit for the proposed regional jail on Wednesday.
The Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail Authority applied for a conditional-use permit to build the 375-bed facility off of U.S. 340-522, north of Front Royal.
The proposed facility will encompass more than 50,000 square feet, and would be located in the county's highway overlay district. The property is currently zoned industrial and commercial.
Architectural renderings of the planned jail's elevations and views from the entrance and U.S. 340-522 are available for viewing on the county's website at www.warrencountyva.net.
The hearing is scheduled Wednesday at 7 p.m. on at the Warren County Government Center.
