*Man gets 18 years in Shenandoah County gang rape case

WOODSTOCK -- A Northern Virginia man was sentenced to serve 18 years in prison for raping and committing aggravated sexual battery against two girls during a gang party Wednesday in Shenandoah County Circuit Court.

Harold Brian Guanilo-Cueva, 24, formerly of Arlington, is the last of five co-defendants to be sentenced in the case stemming from the sex offenses at a house on Jadwyn Road in November 2006. Judge Dennis L. Hupp sentenced him to 50 years for rape, aggravated sexual battery and gang participation. The party followed a meeting of the South Side Locos.

The victims, both 15, were supplied alcohol and assaulted after becoming unconscious.

"It's important to note that these girls did not bring this upon themselves," special prosecutor Phil Figura said. "They didn't ask for this to happen."
