Driver accused of felony hit-and-run

EDINBURG -- A man was charged with hit and run recently after he failed to file an accident report, according to Shenandoah County Sheriff's Capt. Tom Hodges.

Deputies were called to a crash on Back Road near Wolf Gap Road around 12:40 a.m.
June 18, he said. When they arrived, the vehicle had already left.

Evidence left at the scene led deputies to Johnstown Road, where they attempted to make contact with the homeowner, Hodges said.

That homeowner, Thomas Jay Pepperman, 53, of 234 Johnstown Road, Edinburg, was charged with felony hit and run. He is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah County General District Court on July 15.
