Independent to challenge Vogel

STEPHENS CITY -- A town man plans to challenge state Sen. Jill Holtzman Vogel for the 27th District seat in November.
Shaun Broy, of Stephens City, announced his intention to run as an independent candidate in the general election in a news release. Broy's campaign is gathering the 250 signatures required to put his name on the ballot, according to the release.
Broy, who graduated from Clarke County High School, works as the box office manager at Shenandoah University and oversees ticketing and seating services for venues on campus.
He studied political science and public administration, with a minor in mass communications, at the university.
Broy indicates in the release his campaign fundraising efforts would start soon.
