*Victim in fatal crash identified as 12-year-old boy

WINCHESTER -- Police identified a 12-year-old boy who died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Frederick County.

Christopher Dunford, of Winchester, died shortly after 7 p.m. from injuries sustained in the crash on Back Mountain Road, according to Sgt. F.L. Tyler, public information officer for the Virginia State Police.

The driver, Jason O. Menefee, 38, of Winchester, has been charged with reckless driving, Tyler said Thursday morning. Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, he said.
