FRONT ROYAL -- An elderly man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and his apartment at 376 Cherrydale Ave. received minor smoke damage as a result of a fire Friday morning.
Capt. Raymond Cross of Warren County Fire and Rescue Services said firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene at 8:46 a.m. and remained for about 30 minutes. The fire was reported by a visiting nurse who discovered smoke upon entering the home, Cross said. He said the fire was caused by food left to burn on the stove.
No information on the victim was available from hospital officials.
