FISHERS HILL -- A prominent attorney and substitute judge has been arrested on marijuana charges.
James Henry Allamong Jr., 62, turned himself in on Wednesday afternoon, Shenandoah County Sheriff's Maj. Scott Proctor said.
He said firefighters fighting a shed fire on Allamong's property at 1817 Copp Road, Fishers Hill, discovered "a large number" of what appeared to be marijuana plants growing behind it. Processed marijuana also was found, according to Proctor.
Allamong was charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and manufacturing marijuana, Proctor said. He was released on his own recognizance.
Allamong is a former Strasburg town prosecutor. He also has served as a substitute judge in the 26th Judicial District.
The fire was reported Monday at 2:28 p.m.

Well I would say i was shocked but its more prevelant than what people think. Its a shame that this will taint the great career of someone who has worked hard in the community. Who knows, maybe he has glaucoma??
