WINCHESTER -- No one was injured when a house at 113 W. Monmouth St. caught fire Saturday morning, Winchester Fire Lt. Donald Whitacre said.
The fire was reported just after 11 a.m., he said, and the first arriving unit reported smoke coming from the second floor and attic windows.
Whitacre said the main body of the fire was out about 10 minutes later. The fire was contained to the bedroom where it started, he said.
The lieutenant gave a preliminary damage estimate of $1,500. He said the fire remains under investigation.
Whitacre said Greenwood Fire and Rescue assisted Winchester crews.
