Two men arrested on drug charges
Les Wayne Smith, 37, of Front Royal, is being held without bail at the Warren County Jail after being served with a public intoxication warrant and a fugitive-from-justice warrant. In a written statement, Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron said Deputy Mike Robinson arrested Smith at Andy Guest State Park after receiving a call at 1:29 a.m. about a male creating a disturbance at the park. After Robinson located him, Smith told Robinson he had used crystal methamphetamine before the disturbance, McEathron said. Robinson ran a background check and discovered Smith was wanted in Florida and Maryland on cocaine-related charges, McEathron said. Later on Wednesday, Thomas Steven Lewis, 18, of Front Royal, was arrested after a traffic stop and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute. In another written statement, McEathron said the arrest came after Sgt. Josh Seal stopped Lewis' vehicle at 11:41 p.m. on John Marshall Highway near Linden. McEathron said Seal noticed something that smelled like PCP inside the vehicle and a vial that appeared to contain PCP before arresting Lewis. Lewis was jailed and later released on a $4,000 bond, McEathron said. Copyright © The Northern Virginia Daily | nvdaily.com | 152 N. Holliday St., Strasburg, Va. 22657 | (800) 296-5137 |
