Man arrested in bad check case

NEW MARKET -- An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with passing stolen checks.
Brandon David Wells, of 102 Ashby Lane, Apartment B, New Market, was arrested Oct. 31 and charged with five counts of obtaining money by false pretense, five counts of forgery and three counts of passing bad checks.
He is accused of stealing checks from another man's checkbook between July 22 and Aug. 1, Shenandoah County Sheriff's Lt. Wesley Dellinger said. He said the checks were taken from the 4400 block of Old Valley Pike in New Market.
