HARRISONBURG -- A Maryland man accused of conducting a major drug selling operation in the Northern Shenandoah Valley made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Monday.
Barnett Southall Dillman Jr. of Bladensburg, Md., was ordered held without bail by U.S. Magistrate Judge James G. Welsh. Dillman is charged with conspiracy to distribute at least 280 grams of crack cocaine and distributing at least 1,000 grams of PCP resulting in serious bodily injury.
Law enforcement officials believe Dillman has been selling large amounts of crack and PCP in the region for more than 10 years. He has been the target of a months-long investigation that included several informants who bought drugs from Dillman under the supervision of law enforcement officials, according to court documents.
