Dollar store to open Wednesday

MIDDLETOWN -- Dollar General plans to open its new store in town to customers at noon on Wednesday.

The "soft opening" of the store at 7695 Main St. comes less than four months after representatives of Middletown and the construction firm celebrated the groundbreaking for the project.

Fred Wharton, Middletown's zoning administrator and building official, has lauded the store's opening as a boon for the locality ,which continues to look for ways to increase revenue without raising taxes.
