WOODSTOCK -- Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found at a Lee Street home during a police search last month, according to court records.
Woodstock police officer Matt Rhodes pulled over a vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 15 on North Water Street, according to an affidavit for a search warrant filed by investigator Scotty Thompson. A dog alerted on the vehicle, and the people in the car said they'd just left Jeffrey Wayne Tackett Jr.'s house at 105 S. Lee St.
They said they'd taken a couple of hits off of a bong there, the affidavit says. When officers knocked on the door, and were met by the home's occupants, they smelled marijuana, it says.
It says Tackett told Rhodes the marijuana and Adderall pills in the house belonged to him.
The search warrant return says 52 pills; a plastic container with green, plant-like material; a plastic baggie with green plant material; a glass jar with white powder; two digital scales; three bongs; numerous plastic baggies; a mirror with white powder; a matchbox with green plant material; a baggie with 28 tablets; a smoking device with burnt residue and a glass vial with white powder were seized from the home.
Tackett, 25, is a registered violent sex offender.
According to online Shenandoah County General District Court records, Tackett is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6 for possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
